Body and mind training

Clinical experience has taught us that a deeper understanding of how our bodies and minds work together in the recovery process is crucial.

  • We created a library of short educational videos to tackle some of the areas typically affected by back pain such as sleep, exercise and stress.
  • As part of The Back Plan you have access to the video library and each area is addressed further in your one to one consultations.
  • This will enable you to better understand the body mind relationship when you are in pain or injured and develop the skills essential to taking control of your recovery.

Research supports our experience that general exercise is effective in the treatment of both acute and chronic or persistent back pain, but people often tell us they don’t know where to start.  They are frightened of doing more damage or aggravating their symptoms but know they need to improve their strength and fitness.
To bridge the gap between exercises commonly prescribed for back pain and typical weight loss or fitness based workouts we created ‘Moveouts’:

  • A range of functional, every day movement videos designed to train your brain to move well and with confidence again;
  • To reduce your nervous systems hyper-sensitivity which can lead to compensatory, maladaptive ways of moving, lifting, walking and many more every day activities;
